Locations
Company Locations are the physical addresses your business operates from — your yards, offices, warehouses. Each location gets auto-geocoded to latitude/longitude, which the AI bid chat uses to compute mobilization distance from the nearest yard to a prospective job site. The more locations you have on record, the smarter the mobilization estimates.
Adding a location
Section titled “Adding a location”- Go to Locations in the web app (top-level, not under Resources).
- Click Add Location.
- Fill in:
- Name — human-readable, e.g. “Main Yard”, “Downtown Office”.
- Address — street address. Auto-geocoded via Google Maps to latitude/longitude on save.
- City, state, zip — parsed from the address or entered manually.
- Type —
Office,Yard,Warehouse, orOther. - Is Headquarters — check if this is your primary location. Used as the default origin when no other location is closer to a job.
- Phone, gate code, description — optional free fields.
- Save. The app geocodes the address in the background; expect lat/long to show up within a second or two.
Location types
Section titled “Location types”- Office: admin/front-office location, not a dispatch point.
- Yard: where equipment lives. The AI chat picks the closest yard to a job site when estimating mobilization distance.
- Warehouse: where materials are stored. Useful for material hauling distance calculations.
- Other: anything that doesn’t fit the above.
Why this matters for bids
Section titled “Why this matters for bids”The manual bid form doesn’t pull from locations directly — you type the project location by hand. But the calculations panel uses your company’s mobilization rate (set under Company Settings) to turn distance into cost when the AI chat has computed the mileage.
Live tracking
Section titled “Live tracking”A separate Live Tracking page (also under the Locations area) shows real-time GPS positions from trucks on active haul jobs. That’s a different feature — it uses the trucks’ own location pings, not the yard addresses on this page.
See the GPS Tracking guide (coming soon) for the live map.
